Our Mission

Sooke Options for Community Living Association exists to provide opportunities for personal growth, independence, and participation in the community for people who live with developmental and physical disabilities, and to provide support to their families and caregivers.

Who We Are

We began as a group of parents, educators and caregivers in the Sooke area. We were excited at the prospect of providing programs and services in our own area for families with children and adults with developmental and physical disabilities. In October 1998, Sooke Options for Community Living Association was incorporated and registered as a non-profit organization. Over the years our Board of Directors, members and employees have worked together to establish a summer day camp for children with disabilities, an adult day program and a support group for families and caregivers. In the future we hope to set up a staffed respite home.

The eight-week summer camp serves approximately 15 families on a rotating schedule and employs 4 full time staff. Our adult day program serves 4 clients and employs 2 full time staff.

We are members of the Sooke Cooperative Association of Service Agencies (CASA) and share space in the wonderful new facility located at 2145 Townsend Road, Sooke.
